    When you receive an infringement notice (commonly know as a ticket), a courtesy letter, an enforcement order, or a warrant of execution, you have certain options available to you under the AARTO Act.

    Nominate The Driver

    Did you receive a ticket, but you were not the driver of the vehicle? You may nominate the actual driver who committed the infringement or the person who was in control of the vehicle.

    Make a Representation

    Do you believe there are reasonable grounds for cancelling your ticket? You may submit a representation indicating why you should not be held liable for the penalty payable in terms of the Infringement Notice. The RTIA will forward such Representations to an independent Representations Officer for consideration.

    Go To Court

    You can elect to be tried in court when issued with an infringement notice, when you receive a courtesy letter, or when your representation for an infringement fails.
